ALTI offers Accredited Short Courses for those wanting to increase their understanding and skills in a particular area.

This is an effective way to prepare for career advancement, and each course contributes towards a full qualification if you decide to pursue further training in the future. The below short courses are available. The courses are outlined below in the individual course links.

Accredited Skill Sets

Accredited Skill Sets are groups of skills, or units of competency, that enable students to meet industry or regulatory requirements, as part of a nationally endorsed training package.

The skill sets identified within training packages are formally recognised on a statement of attainment, which is awarded on successful completion of one or more units.

This course is recommended for people who apply an extensive range of competencies in various medical administration contexts. They may exercise discretion and judgment using appropriate knowledge to provide technical advice and support to a team. The skills are applied in accordance with legislation, regulation, government policy and industry guidelines. This unit may be used as a credit towards

CHCSS00070 Assist Clients with Medication (Medication Management Course) | Skill Set

Who is it for? Those with a relevant Cert III qualification, working in community care and support roles, who wish to provide medication assistance to clients. What will I learn? To prepare for and provide medication assistance, support a client to self-administer medication and complete medication documentation.

CHCSS00105 Palliative Approach - Provide Support | Skill Set

Who is it for? People working in community care and support roles who wish to develop palliative care skills. What will I learn? The knowledge and skills needed to support those requiring palliative care and their families.

HLTAID001 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) | Short Course

This course is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge required to provide CPR to a casualty. Skills are applied in accordance with legislation, regulation, government policy and industry guidelines. This course is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge required to provide aid response to a casualty. HLTHPS006 - Assist clients with medication | Short Course

This course is recommended for people who prepare and provide medication assistance or support to clients who self-administer medication.
