Work Placement & Employment Opportunities

Home / Work Placement & Employment Opportunities

Workplace based learning gives you the opportunity to apply your knowledge in an appropriate industry setting.

If you are not already employed in the care sector, Amana Living Inc, our parent company, is happy to assist ALTI students with possible traineeship program/employment opportunities in one of its 21 sites in WA or with one of our partner providers.

Amana Living Inc has been serving the community since 1962. Services include residential care, housing, respite care, transition care and dementia services, spread across 21 sites in Perth metro, Australind, Kalgoorlie and Albany. We also offer home care services across Perth metro and Kalgoorlie. This enables ALTI to offer work placements and possible employment opportunities in our own facilities - an opportunity that sets us apart from other training providers in Western Australia.

This opportunity is generously offered by workplaces under supervised/mentor conditions and is designed to relate to the current training program you are undertaking.

This is a compulsory component of your program, and once you have been allocated a position within a workplace, you will be required to accept this allocation.

You are expected to attend on days that have been designated to you and record the hours that you have been present at placement. This will be checked weekly by your trainer and reported back to the Student Support Officer.

If you have a question or concern while you are attending your placement, please contact your Student Support Officer.

For more information regarding traineeship/work placement with Amana Living, please contact ALTI on 1300 492 703.

Do I Need to Complete Placement?

Yes, placement is not only a valuable resource providing a wealth of information when it comes to assessments and general education; it is also a compulsory part of your course.

Each unit of competency (except for First Aid) requires you to complete a nominal amount of hours in a workplace based setting. Our Certificate III and IV aged and healthcare qualifications include 120 hours of work placement, where you will be assessed for your practical, on-the-job performance.
