Course details
The following will be included in the education session:
- Understand the basic anatomy of the gastro-intestinal tract, indicators and purpose of enteral feeding
- Identify the different types of enteral nutrition feeding tubes, equipment and administration methods
- Understand the daily management of enteral tube, stoma and equipment
- Recognise and responding to complications
- Understand how to administer medication through an enteral tube
- Understand how to recognise and respond to complications associated with the procedure
Entry and eligibility requirements
There are no pre-entry study or qualification requirements, but to be eligible, you must:
- Possess suitable English language, literacy and numeracy skills (e.g. you will need to be able to read, understand and communicate care requirements on a care plan)
- Be at least 18 years of age
Mode of Delivery, duration and assessment
This course is delivered face to face at our Rivervale training venue for a duration of 3 hours by our experienced industry Trainers.
