Epilepsy & Seizure Management

Course details

The following will be included in the education session:

• Basic overview of Epilepsy and Seizures

• Seizure classifications, phases, triggers and management including first aid and recovery

• Status Epilepticus

• Monitoring of Seizures, Emergency Management Plans (EMP) and Emergency Medication Management Plans (EMMP)

• When to call an ambulance

• Midazolam administration and management

Entry requirements

There are no pre-entry study or qualification requirements, but to be eligible, you must:

• Possess suitable English language, literacy and numeracy skills (e.g. you will need to be able to read, understand and communicate care requirements on a care plan);
• Be at least 18 years of age

Duration and learning method

This course is delivered face to face at our Rivervale training venue for a duration of 3 hours by our experienced industry Trainers.

Certification

A certificate of participation will be issued to each learner confirming the learning outcome.
