Course Details

Employees within the health care and community services sectors need to work in accordance with infection control policies, procedures and industry standards. This course provides the skills and knowledge required to carry out their duties safely.

Topics include:

  • Transmission and chain of infections
  • Infection control, standards and precautions
  • Infection risks and application of risk controls
  • Personal hygiene practices, such as hand-washing technique

This course can be customised to meet organisational workforce needs.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements

There are no pre-entry study or qualification requirements, but to be eligible, you must:

  • Possess suitable English language, literacy and numeracy skills (e.g. you will need to be able to read, understand and communicate care requirements on a care plan);
  • Be at least 18 years of age
