Infection Control Skill Set (Transport & Logistics)

The Infection Control Skill Set is designed to give learners job ready skills to follow organisational infection prevention and control policies and procedures. This includes implementing standard and transmission-based precautions and responding to infection risks in organisations operating in the transport and logistics industry. This skill set is suited to settings such as offices, depots, customer sites, distribution centres, public transport vehicles, commercial and residential buildings and storage facilities.

Entry requirements

There are no pre-entry study or qualification requirements, but to be eligible, you must:

  • Reside in Western Australia;
  • Possess suitable English language, literacy and numeracy skills (e.g. you will need to be able to read, understand and communicate care requirements on a care plan); and
  • Provide a copy of your passport or photo identification.
  • Be at least 18 years of age

Pathways

The unit in this skill will provide credit towards a range of qualifications where these skills are required giving student options for further study in the aged, disability and community care training packages.

Study methods & duration

Study methods & duration

The delivery of this qualification is a blended delivery mode of face-to-face workshops and self-study. The total duration for this qualification may be between 12-20 hours dependent upon the existing skills of the learner

Forms of study include:

  • Face to face clustered lecturer/trainer directed workshops
  • Workshop based practical skills and written assessments
  • Post course assignments

All fees are 100% subsidised by the WA State Government, through Jobs and Skills WA. There is no cost to the learner. Eligibility criteria apply.

Completing this free skill set will be recognised by a Statement of Attainment for the units listed above.

Statements of Attainment issued by Amana Living Training Institute will be recognised by other Registered Training Organisations (RTO) nationally.
