Course details

At the completion of this session participants will be able:

Describe the changes that occur in an ageing skin
Discuss factors that can increase the risk of injury to skin and relevant assessments to check that skin is intact
Discuss general measures to maintain skin integrity and reduce the risk of injury to a client's skin
Define a skin tear
Describe the assessment and management of a skin tear
State the reporting requirements when a skin tear occurs

Entry requirements

There are no pre-entry study or qualification requirements, but to be eligible, you must:

Possess suitable English language, literacy and numeracy skills (e.g. you will need to be able to read, understand and communicate care requirements on a care plan);
Be at least 18 years of age

Duration & learning method

This course is delivered face-to-face at our Rivervale training venue for the duration of 2 hours by experience industry Trainers.

Certification

A certificate of participation is issued to each learner confirming the learning outcome.
