Course details
This course is designed to promote best practice in maintaining clients skin integrity by reducing risk of injury to the skin and managing skin tears when they occur.
Delivered by trainers with a clinical background and with relevant industry experience.
Learning Outcomes
- Describe the changes that occur in an ageing skin
- Discuss factors that can increase the risk of injury to skin and relevant assessments to check that skin is intact
- Discuss general measures to maintain skin integrity and reduce the risk of injury to a client's skin
- Define a skin tear
- Describe the assessment and management of a skin tear
- State the reporting requirements when a skin tear occurs
Entry and eligibility requirements
There are no pre-entry study or qualification requirements, but to be eligible, you must:
- Possess suitable English language, literacy and numeracy skills (e.g. you will need to be able to read, understand and communicate care requirements on a care plan);
- Be at least 18 years of age
Mode of delivery, duration and assessment
This course is delivered face-to-face at our Rivervale training venue for the duration of 2 hours by experience industry Trainers.
