Course Details
The purpose of this course is to provide the skills and knowledge required to work respectfully with people from diverse social and cultural groups and situations, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
Topics may include
- What being culturally aware means
- How people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds experience ageing differently
- Improved communication with those whose first language is not English
- Developing a culturally inclusive approach
This course can be customised to meet organisational workforce needs.
Entry requirements
Entry requirements
There are no pre-entry study or qualification requirements, but to be eligible, you must:
- Possess suitable English language, literacy and numeracy skills (e.g. you will need to be able to read, understand and communicate care requirements on a care plan);
- Be at least 18 years of age
