Course Details

Course Details

The aim of this course is to provide students with the theoretical skills and knowledge to effectively provide support to people living with dementia. Topics can include:

  • The various types of dementia
  • Using appropriate communication strategies
  • How dementia affects the person who lives with it
  • Enhancing wellbeing
  • Responding to changes over time
  • The person-centred care model

This course can be customised to meet organisational workforce needs.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements

There are no pre-entry study or qualification requirements, but to be eligible, you must:

  • Possess suitable English language, literacy and numeracy skills (e.g. you will need to be able to read, understand and communicate care requirements on a care plan);
  • Be at least 18 years of age
