Course Details
Course Outline
This 4 hour session is a blend of theory and practical tasks. It focuses on the risks associated with working in the direct care sectors and explains the strategies used to prevent injuries at work.
Topics include:
- Transferring a client
- Using hoists
- Aids such as slide sheets
- Identifying and reporting hazards
- Safe work practices
This course can be customised to meet organisational workforce needs.
Entry requirements
Entry & eligibility requirements
There are no pre-entry study or qualification requirements, but to be eligible, you must:
- Possess suitable English language, literacy and numeracy skills (e.g. you will need to be able to read, understand and communicate care requirements on a care plan);
- Be at least 18 years of age
