Course Details
The aim of this course is to provide skills and knowledge required for a worker to care for people with life threatening or life limiting illness or normal aging process using a palliative approach.
Topics can include:
- The palliative philosophy and approach
- Physical care towards the end of life
- Responding to signs of pain and distress
- Respecting preferences that affect quality of life
- Communicating with residents and family members
- Cultural considerations
This course can be customised to meet organisational workforce needs.
Entry Requirements
Entry requirements
There are no pre-entry study or qualification requirements, but to be eligible, you must:
- Possess suitable English language, literacy and numeracy skills (e.g. you will need to be able to read, understand and communicate care requirements on a care plan);
- Be at least 18 years of age
