Course Details

This training session aims to provide insight into the person centred care philosophy and gives practical strategies to implement the approach.

Topics include:

  • Defining person centred care
  • Involving clients/residents, their families and carers in decision making
  • Implementing person-centred care
  • Respecting individual preferences and values
  • Effective communication

This course can be customised to meet organisational workforce needs.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements

There are no pre-entry study or qualification requirements, but to be eligible, you must:

  • Possess suitable English language, literacy and numeracy skills (e.g. you will need to be able to read, understand and communicate care requirements on a care plan);
  • Be at least 18 years of age
