The following will be included in the education session:
- The basic anatomy of the male and female urinary system
- Reasons for catheterisation and the different types of urinary catheters and drainage systems
- Symptoms/indications of need for intervention and when to refer to a health practitioner
- Urinary Tract Infections, Delirium and Autonomic dysreflexia
- Catheter management
- General considerations of urinary catheter management
Entry requirements
Entry requirements
There are no pre-entry study or qualification requirements, but to be eligible, you must:
- Possess suitable English language, literacy and numeracy skills (e.g. you will need to be able to read, understand and communicate care requirements on a care plan);
- Be at least 18 years of age

This course is delivered face to face at our Rivervale training venue for a duration of 1.5 hours by our experienced industry Trainers.

A certificate of participation will be issued to each learner confirming the learning outcome.
